More innovative the product and services offered by telecommunication companies to their customers, more complicated the technology to support it. We can find many tariff promotions offered by telecommunication companies in media e.g. free call, free accessing to internet, [...]]]> Telecommunication business is the business that supported by new technology and always been updated continuously. More innovative the product and services offered by telecommunication companies to their customers, more complicated the technology to support it. We can find many tariff promotions offered by telecommunication companies in media e.g. free call, free accessing to internet, free SMS  etc. all these promotions need to be configured earlier in the back end system and test it before they launch it.
Telecommunication companies will give this responsibility to their partner, called vendor, to build entire of telecommunication infrastructures. Vendors are providing end to end network infrastructures and make sure that they are running well. Usually telecommunication companies involve several vendors to build their network but usually there are about one two main vendors involved to build telecommunication core network.
Some of telecommunication vendors in Indonesia are:
1. Nokia – Siemens : Nokia Siemens Network (NSN)

They were providing entire of telecommunication system including the gadget to customers and they have been in Indonesia market since long time ago while telecommunication system was introduced in Indonesia. They provide them to several telecommunication companies e.g. Telkomsel, XL, Indosat, Three

2. Alcatel

Alcate;l came earlier to Indonesian telecommunication market. Alcatel provided their device to Indosat, XL and Telkomsel

3. Ericcson

As one of the Europe product, Ericcsons also contribute to the Indonesia telecommunication market. Ericcson also provide the gadget for customers

4. Nortell

Nortell is CDMA base. Bakrie Telecom is the only telecommunication companies that supported Nortell

5. Huawei China

Huawei is the new competitor for all vendors above and offering cheap price of any telecommunication system.
6. NEC Japan

NEC is focusing on transmission media.

7. ZTE China

ZTE is almost the same with Huawei. Both are Chinese vendor that giving a cheap price of telecommunication infrastructures

Telecommunication infrastructure is the key point while telecommunication companies plan to launch telecommunication services. Europe network platform is the first choice while telecommunication companies decide to deploy telecommunication infrastructures. The second option is USA network platform but it was only 1 –2 telecommunication companies which utilized USA network platform. Europe network platform such as Nokia, Siemens, Ericsson, Alcatel was installed at each of telecommunication companies with GSM platform such as Telkomsel, XL, and Indosat. The main reason is Europe network platform was established early even though it was very expensive

Global financial crises are giving new opportunity to Asian network platform such as Huawei, Samsung and NEC to play more roles and compete with Europe network platform. Cheaper investment is the main campaign they will introduce to each telecommunication companies. As the result we can find Huawei network platform dominate in Asia market including Indonesia right now. Huawei network platform is installed at almost telecommunication companies in Indonesia either partial or entire of telecommunication infrastructures

Telecommunication infrastructures which replaced by Huawei network platform are including the entire of core telecommunication system such as Mobile Switching Centre (MSC), Home Local Register (HLR, Base Station Controller (BSC), Base Transceiver Station (BTS), Short Messaging Service Centre (SMSC), Intelligent Network (IN) and transmission system such as Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), radio microwave and optical fiber network. In fact, data communication infrastructures such as router and catalyst, they also provided and replace traditional platform which already established such as Cisco and Juniper. Huawei network platform is installed more rather others Asian network platform such as NEC, Samsung and ZTE. High appreciate to Huawei network platform which able to dominate in Indonesia market

Still on Huawei platform, Huawei is also starting to provide cheap mobile phone to the Indonesian market. To introduce mobile phone product, Huawei cooperate with telecommunication companies to provide bundling mobile phone and embedded with many features such as BREW platform. Bakrie Telecom and Huawei have implemented this cooperation to provide bundling mobile phone such as Huawei C260x series, Huawei C280x and Huawei C510x which embedded with BREW platform
