Facebook fever all around world including Indonesia tempts telecommunication companies to create products and services which include facebook as the one or main service features. We can understand it since people keep connected to facebook for long time. We can say that people connects to facebook more than five hour everyday to write on the wall, update status, upload new photograph and searching new friends. This is potential revenue and telecommunication companies should have more innovation to integrate facebook to their new telecommunication product and service
Indonesia mobile telecommunication subscribers are about 150 millions subscribers and it is big potential revenue once telecommunication companies could drive them to obtain telecommunication product and service from them. Facebook feature as the one or main feature of telecommunication product and service is a great idea. There are many ways to integrate facebook to current and new telecommunication product and service. The first is blackberry service. The main feature of Blackberry service is actually mail service which allow mobile telecommunication subscriber to access and update their email every time and every time. As the result, you will see that almost telecommunication companies which has blackberry service such as Telkomsel, Indosat, XL and Smart Telecom will integrate facebook and set it as main feature while they promote blackberry service as one of their telecommunication product and service
The second is bundling mobile phone which integrates facebook as main feature. In this scheme, telecommunication companies will create special bundling mobile phone with facebook and other Instant Messaging (IM) e.g. Yahoo Messanger, MSM, Gtalk as the main features of the mobile phone. Telecommunication companies realize that they should obtain subscribers as many possible and create new telecommunication product and service that they really need. With attractive features such as facebook and Instant Messaging (IM) and competitive price, bundling mobile phone is an alternative while mobile telecommunication subscribers did not need much to access email service provided by blackberry service. Bundling mobile phone with facebook feature is an alternative to keep subscribers connect to facebook
